「名だたる展覧会で絶賛されること」よりも「日常生活のあらゆるシーンに美が根ざしている世界」を模索した神坂雪佳である。 フランスやイギリス、ドイツといった国々の最新の美術工芸運動であったアール・ヌーヴォーをその目でみて、そこに伝統的な日本の美を確認した。


Sekka Kamisaka was born in Kyoto and worked as a designer of ornaments. The artist made several woodblock albums, "A Thousand Butterflies" in 1903, "World of Things" in 1909, "Poems and Pictures" in 1934 and "Collection of Humorous Designs - Kokkei Zuan (e-hon album)" in 1903.
